Posts will be uploaded on a bi-weekly basis starting on Thursday May 1, 2014.
I will be sharing mini essays, photos, maps, and resource reviews on topics relating to Scottish settlement in what is now southern Ontario, Canada. My passion for researching early domestic architecture and life in the British colonies will (I'm sure) be apparent in many of my posts. Additionally, I will likely demonstrate a fondness for the Scottish settlement of Shade's Mills (later to become Galt, then Cambridge), as it is not only the place of my birth, but the hometown of many generations of my predecessors.
Until then, allow me to introduce you to this lovely lady below. On a trip into the Scottish Highlands in March, I managed to come across some Highland Cattle (also known as "hairy coos"). They are absolutely adorable - just watch out for the horns!
